I have a solid amount of news ideas that I would like to possibly pursue.  All of my ideas are realistic and could be done in a fairly short period of time.

Documentary Review

Eye Trip

"Eye Trip" is ski documentary showing all different types of skiing and how they've evolved. This documentary takes place in Sweden, Norway and Colorado. It contains park skiing and back country helicopter skiing. Skiers are interviewed about there location of skiing and the lack of snow over past winters (2010). One thing I really liked about this documentary was the choice of music for different types of skiing. Faster pace music was definitely used for more intense skiing in the film as slower music was used for more casual breaks in the dramatic documentary. I also loved the different camera angles of the back country skiing shots. Helicopters played a big factor in making this documentary happen for sure. As for the freestyle skiing lots of it took place at night witch required lighting. They did lots of the night freestyle skiing at night because most of the film locations were urban meaning people would be around during the day time filming. Overall I really enjoyed this documentary and learned a lot when it comes to camera angles and what goes into making a type of film like this.

My first news segment could not have gone better, we were able to interview everyone we were hoping to and got to hear what they had to say about winning state championships and what it took. We interviewed Jason Thomas, Dave Micili, Cory Herrington and Julie Fifeild. It was great to hear all of there different opinions and strategies that it took for them to win a state championship. Joey, Devin and Will were all very easy to work with and we got all of shots done in one take. Being behind the camera was a great experience, it was fun getting to experiment with lighting and different camera angles. Being the interviewer was very fun and really made me feel engaged in the interview. Overall I enjoyed my first News Segment with Joey, Devin and Will and look forward for future News pieces.
