My name is Ben Swinarton, and I currently attend Burr Burton academy in Manchester VT. I am just starting my junior year and am apart of the varsity Hockey and Golf teams. I have been golfing since I was 9 years old and hope to continue my career and play in college. I started playing hockey in 6th grade and got very good very fast. When I was a freshman I opted to play for BBA and played for the Northshire hockey league. That season I went on to win a state championship for the hockey program. Growing up sports were a big part of my life as well as my friends. I grew up with Joey McCoy and Logan Morgan at Manchester elementary and middle school. I then met John Morgantini as well as Jake Baker and Jake Nicholson who happen to be all of my best friends today.

Since the day I was born on March 19th 2002 I have lived on Equinox Pond Road. I have 2 older brothers Will and Tim who both graduated from BBA and then both attending Quinnipiac university. They both took cinematography during high school and loved it. Will is a amazing skier and Tim is a top of the line fly fisherman. My brothers both inspired me in and out of school growing up and taught me so much.

This past summer was very productive and fun. I started my first ever job at Vineyard Vines in Manchester working around 3 to 4 days a week. I started working there around May 8th and finished around august 11th. The first week of summer I took a trip with my family to Bermuda for 7 days and it was truly a once and a life time experience. I jet skied to a ship wreck and went through a bay occupied by thousands of sea turtles. I also visited the oldest cast iron lighthouse in the world as well as the smaller draw bridge in the world while there. All of the native people on the island were very welcoming and kind to people from other parts of the world. When I got back to Vermont I competed in around 10 golf tournaments. I played in the Dorset field club men and junior club championship as well as the Vermont stroke play championship. I traveled to Killington to compete in a tournament with kids from all over the world. This tournament was a great experience getting to test my game compared to kids all going to D1 colleges for golf. Overall it was a amazing summer and I am excited to be back at school. I am looking forward to see what cinematography has to offer.
